3/27.    There were three red lanterns
            hanging in the garden
            we counted in the shadows

3/29.    From the kitchen window
            we watched cherry blossoms
            fall like snow

4/1.    The moon stood in the doorway
          we whistled tunes
          from old television shows

4/2.    Old men sat on benches in the park
           lit by fading sunlight
           as pigeons inspected our feet

4/5.    I get excited for rush-hour
          on the subway
to be pressed up against you
